With Lucid Intervals, LUMA Arles presents a series of screenings around selected themes. Through the theme “Petroleum”, the screenings examine one of the most controversial resources of our time. The selected films address the imaginaries, exploitations, and ecological consequences tied to fossil fuel, revealing tensions between energy, power, and environmental destruction. The conversations following the screenings open a space to question cinema’s role in critiquing energy dependencies and their modern myths.
