Jan Wurm is an Architect and Head of Research and Innovation in Europe at ARUP. He has led several development projects exploring the potential of bio-based processes and materials for construction. He has developed the SolarLeaf façade, a bio-reactive facade for cultivating microalgae to generate biomass and solar thermal energy, which was installed for the first time in 2013 on the BIQ House in Hamburg.
