In the heart of the Congolese forest, the remnants of the Yangambi INERA research station, once dedicated to tropical agriculture, reveal the weight of the colonial past and its ties to today’s climate change. Through the voices of Paul Panda Farnana and Abiron Beirnaert, two scientists who worked in Yangambi between 1910 and 1950, The Tree of Authenticity retraces the ecological destruction set in motion during Belgian colonization.

Forest management has been fast-tracked into intensive farming. Le Temps des forêts is a journey into the heart of industrial forestry and its alternatives. Lush forest or green desert? Today’s choices will shape tomorrow’s landscape.
