Ahlam Shibli was in residence at LUMA Arles in 2022 / 2023.

Born in Palestine, in 1970 Ahlam Shibli’s photographic work and through a documentary aesthetic, addresses the contradictory implications of the notion of home; it deals with the loss of home and the struggle against this loss, as well as the restrictions and limitations that the idea of home imposes on individuals and communities marked by repressive identity politics.
