François Vatin 4
François Vatin is a sociologist, lecturer at Paris Nanterre University, and researcher at the Institutions and Historical Dynamics of Economy and Society Laboratory (IDHES). A specialist in labor and economic sociology, and the history of technical thought, he is currently interested in the relationship between art and industry in the twentieth century, and the international mechanisms of industrial wage employment, taking the city of Tangiers (Morocco) as his subject matter. He has also been working, for the past twelve years, on the state of higher education in France, and has participated in numerous public debates about it. He has contributed to the organization of exhibitions, and published art books. His latest work, Of Economy, is a short essay published in May 2020 by Laborintus, which seeks to clarify the notion of economy to better reclaim it in all its dimensions.
