Martino Gamper on Le Réfectoire construction site, in 2020.

Martino is an Italian designer based in London. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he studied sculpture with Michelangelo Pistoletto, he collaborates on a wide range of projects from exhibition design to interior design, from one-off commissions to mass-produced products for leading furniture design brands.

Invited for a residency at LUMA Arles in 2019, the London-based studio Martino Gamper explored the region and Atelier LUMA’s research. During this time, the team developed initial prototypes — tables, benches, stools — tested during convivial banquets. This experience laid the groundwork for the Tutti Frutti project, created for the new Refectory at the Parc des Ateliers. The furniture was designed on-site in collaboration with local artisans.
