With Lucid Intervals, LUMA Arles presents a series of screenings around selected themes.
December Theme: The Light
These screenings will offer a contrast between light as a sacred legacy and light as a source of hope: from the initiatory quest of a young man seeking to master magical forces (Yeelen by Souleymane Cissé) to the struggle of an ordinary man striving to bring electricity to a forgotten village in the Kyrgyz mountains (Le Voleur de lumière by Aktan Arym Kubat). The program will also include a tale where the night becomes a realm of wonders to be tamed (Nocturna, la nuit magique).
