    Christian Marclay talks to us about the film “The Clock”

    Marclay's The Clock is a study of perception and the notion of time, as well as an exploration of kinematics and the medium of film. It is a 24-hour experiment that reveals the digital imprint of the measurement of temporality through film sequences, deconstructing and reconstructing the meaning of reality through a network of heterogeneous but interconnected moving images. The work emerged as a unique marker in the pre-digital era of moving images and cinema, offering an experience of time and temporality by questioning various concepts such as the relationship between reality and fiction. 

    The Clock is a 24-hour video montage of film clips, all containing an indication of the time. As they scroll across the screen, the images indicate the time, perfectly synchronized with the time zone of the screening location.
