    Magick and Queer Lives in Twentieth-Century California

    A roundtable discussion, moderated by Flora Katz that explores the role of magick within queer communities in California throughout the twentieth century. It focuses on key figures such as Aleister Crowley, Kenneth Anger, and Arthur Evans, and explores how witchcraft practices, occult ceremonies, and rituals evolved into vital elements of queer counterculture. Scholars and practitioners—including Judith Noble, Professor Emerita of Film and the Occult, queer environmentalist Julien Princesse Didier, and Alexis Bard Johnson, curator at the ONE Archives—discuss the influence of magick on queer identities, artistic expression, and political activism on the West Coast.
