In this talk, artist Uriel Orlow offers a sensitive and visual exploration of the role plants play in shaping our relationship to the world, to memory, and to ecology. Attentive to the quiet voices of the vegetal realm, he examines how plants can embody narratives, presences, and forms of knowledge that are often overlooked. Through works combining images, sound, text, and archival materials, Uriel Orlow develops an artistic approach that gives plants an active place in human and environmental histories. He invites us to listen differently to the living world, through the botanical echoes he reveals and stages.
Winner of the 2023 Swiss Grand Award for Art (Meret Oppenheim Prize), Uriel Orlow has presented his work in numerous international biennials and exhibitions, affirming a poetic practice deeply engaged with contemporary issues.
